Dear readers!!

Here I am again. I was verry bussy with a lot of things!!
Mostly with my couch that you can see in earlyer messages on this blog. The building part of this couch is almost ready. But that is not the only thing for this couch. Because I have a special idee for this couch. Because of the fact that Vieille Porte is made of old wooden paneldoors, does it carry a lot of history with him. Things you can see but also things you can't see. Like emotional stuff.
This is a thing I want to show. That is wy i searched the last time for people who like to write poetry. My idee is to write random senses on the couch. but al in the line of my filosofy.

And this is my key, filosofy!

Vieille PorteThe idea.Vieille Porte is a bench made of two old panel doors builded around 1845.Under the banner of sustainability and reuse this design is established. Sustainability and recycling are current themes. What do we do with the products that used to have a certain usefulness, but now fall into disuse? Do we process it further as waste, including harmful effects on our environment? Or do we breathe new life into them, so they can be used again for a long time and then they have no harmful influence on our environment ......I am in favor of the last idee! We already have enough waste in this world! But there is also a difference in recycling. You can use the product for the material, but you can also keep the product intact and then use it. This wy you can also take the atmosphere and history of the product with you. The latter I find very important in a design, including the design Vieille Porte. That's why I decided to use two old panel doors.Doors are very decisive for the atmosphere in a room. They are verry influenced by fashion. Old doors tell a story! You can see the whims and fancies of the owner when you look at the door. For example, if the owner was very conservative, the door had a long time the same old color. The next owner was perhaps quite fashionable and modern and he gave the door a new shade every year. Another owner found the profiles nothing and just wanted a tight door; therefore the door has a long time a board paneling. An aggressive owner, by example, was verry angry an kicked the door, so that there is a splinter gone and a hole was created. All of these things can be seen in a door. These are all external things, but if you look at the spiritual level, there are also many things that the door survifed. Along Thus, for example, the door saw the deceased are carried out; new residents, including young born, have gone through this door inside. The door held confidential matters in the rooms and intruders outside. All these aspects are in a door, and therefore also in my couch!Vieille Porte - a lived product!

Hey there!!!

How are you guy's?? Are you also busy?? Just like me??

Last time I am verry busy with finishing my products. In the first two years I started a lot of projects, but I didn't finished them. So now I'm busy with making things ready to sell. So I hopefully can make some money with it.

I want to introduce you to my coutch. His name is Vieille Porte.

This is the start of my coutch. Vieille Porte!

I make this coutch of two old doors. Two panel doors, from about 1880. So pretty old, but the look lovely! For the construction i had to conect those parts. But I wanted those doors to lean backwards. This is wy I made the conection piece between the to doors. But it was still dificult to make. That was because I had to deal with a double angle.

Next 11 weeks I have to do an internship. I'm going to write some artikels about my internship on this page. This would be stuff about my experiences and knowledge.

Internship
Week 1

This week was the first week of my internship . For me it did not really feel that way . Normally you should completely get used to the company . But I'm also been engaged in HoutActief during the holiday . So, I already knew how the business worked and how the atmosphere was. I also had this internship better prepared as my previous internship . I have clear learning objectives for this internship where I want to work on. This I have discussed with my training company. We have also shown from both sides what we expect from each other . All this together has meant that I quickly felt at home in the company. The work this week was not as exciting . At the moment we are working to produce . 40th bathroom cabinets. When we started the majority was already completed . But we ( Bram and I ) might make the last load . This is of course serial work. This in itself is a kind of boring. But Jorrick gave us an extra assignment . We had to try to proceed most efficiently. That means, we still had to think how we could go faster. This gave a whole new dimension to the work . So it dident feel that anoying. Time fly's when you are having fun. I make longer days as at the Bataviawerf but it feels like the days are passing more quickly .

Enough for this week. Next week more!

The drawing of the pine bathroom cabinets we make. These cabinets are getting varnished by another company.  Then there comes a sink on top and then they will be placed in holidayhouses .

Here a picture of the setup we use for dominoing the connections. The mold is made earlier by Jorick.
